Trip to Jackson ~ Old Capitol :: Batesville Portrait Photographer

If you didn't guess the last post, it's a doorknob from the "Old Capitol" in Jackson.  I thought it was pretty neat, so I had my official bag holder to take a picture of it.  The following pictures are some we took while visiting the "Old Capitol".  I keep referring the "Old Capitol" as the "Old Capitol", because that's just what it is! I have pictures I'll be posting next from the "New Capitol".  If you ever want a FREE informative history lesson, please take a day to go down to our State's capital and check it out! We didn't get a chance to tour the "New Capitol" or the Governor's Mansion, but I can assure you, that's NEXT on our "to visit" list.

This is one of the "laws" we noticed hasn't changed that much.... If you can read it, it basically says, ...if you kill on purpose or with malice, you are found guilty of manslaughter... If further says, ...if you kill someone by 'accident' or in defending you or your family, you shall NOT be found guilty....

Don't you just LOVE the detail work in these next few pictures?

We visited with our little buddies, Andrea and Lindsey.  Andrea and J had their little notebooks they purchased at the Mississippi Children's Museum, and they made a TON of notes! It nearly blew my mind that even though they're not in school, that they wanted to learn!!!!

Hope you've enjoyed our "mini tour".  Maybe it will convince you to go and check it out for yourself!!

~Karen~
